Alley plays Madison Banks, a Broadway star whose life gets complicated when the son she gave up for adoption finds her. Erik Peterson (Shrek: The Musical) portrays Arlo, the son. He’s nerdy and the opposite of his fabulous mother. Perlman will be Banks’ assistant, Thelma, while Richards portrays her driver, Frank.
TV Land has ordered 12 episodes of the show so far. This style of show has worked for the network that first rose to prominence with reruns of classic shows. Hot In Cleveland is built around the exploits of sitcom vets Valerie Bertinelli, Wendie Malick, Jane Leeves and the always hilarious Betty White. Happily Divorced often features visits by her former co-stars from The Nanny. Kirstie’s New Show seems to fit with this group, we’ll see if audiences agree.
