Crazy Rumor Alert: Christopher Nolan to Produce Justice League, With Bale as Batman

Was anyone really psyched to hear the long rumored superhero-packed “Justice League” movie got the thumbs up from Warner Bros. last year? Nah, I didn’t think so. And yes, we know it’s not an “Avengers” rip-off per se, it’s just the timing doesn’t feel right.

But here’s a crazy rumor to build some hype – Christopher Nolan is apparently in talks to helm the project. And Christian Bale might pick up his Batman costume from the dry cleaners for at least one more 120-minute stint in front of the camera.

Does that change everything about Justice League? Hell yeah, it does. Only, before getting too excited about the thing, keep in mind that it’s all just a crazy rumor. For now. Also, even if everything proves legit, Christopher Nolan is to only oversee the movie and possibly produce. No directing from him and most certainly no script from him or his brother, Jonathan.

Then again, who cares? If C. Nolan does get involved in any way, there’s at least an outside chance the movie won’t totally suck. In other news, it appears Will Beall’s first draft of the script was turned down by the studios, while a final decision on “Justice League” is to be taken after “Man of Steel” enters theaters (this summer). There’s a lot riding on you, Snyder. And Cavill. And Crowe. And Costner. And Shannon.
