We may have had our doubts about Netflix’s ability of changing the face of traditional TV with original programs whose entire seasons are released all at once on the web, but House of Cards changed all that.
And what’s in store for us in the near future confirms Netflix is on its way. The Arrested Development reboot is by far the highlight of the “summer season”, while Turbo: F.A.S.T. will be making the headlines come December.
Before all that though, American Horror Story meets True Blood in Hemlock Grove, a horror series with an intriguing cast and a dark yet very juicy trailer. There’s blood, gore, mystery and nudity all wrapped up in the 90-second montage embedded below, so chances are you’ll be getting all the ingredients needed to watch the 13 episodes of the first season back-to-back on April 19.
Famke Janssen (“X-Men”, “GoldenEye”), Lili Taylor (“High Fidelity”, “The Haunting”) and Dougray Scott (“Mission: Impossible II”) are the leading veteran actors that guarantee there’s a strong script behind this thing. As for producer Eli Roth, we just hope he’ll be bringing some of the “Inglourious Basterds” magic to Hemlock Grove instead of whatever “The Man with the Iron Fists” was.
Netflix has reportedly spent $45 million on the new show, so if anything it’s going to be interesting to see what kind of special effects that has bought.
