If the international trailer for “Kick-Ass 2” is an accurate representation of what we could expect from the upcoming film, then it seems the focus has shifted from Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kick-Ass to Chloe Grace Moretz’s Hit-Girl and that’s fine. Hit-Girl was always a far more compelling character and it will be interesting to see the character try to get along without her father.
Less interesting to watch, unfortunately, will be Jim Carrey as Colonel Star and Stripes. I don’t know what he’s going for with that unconvincing, tough guy voice but I really wish he’d stop.
“Kick-Ass 2” is set to be released in US theatres on August 16 (it will be released on July 19 in UK theatres for whatever reason).
