The producer behind the popular 2010 “Facebook movie,” “The Social Network,” was already attached to produce Sony’s film adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs biography, and now that film’s Oscar-winning screenwriter is attached as well.
Aaron Sorkin, who took home his first Best Adapted Screenplay Academy Award for writing the Scott Rudin-produced film about Facebook’s origins, has signed to adapt Steve Jobs, once again for Rudin, the Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.
Sorkin, best known for creating The West Wing, also co-wrote last year’s “Moneyball” movie.
The project is not to be confused with the film in which Ashton Kutcher is playing Jobs; that is an independent film that is not based on Isaacson’s authorized biography. Casting has not been announced for the Sorkin-penned movie.
