Upon hearing the news the nation’s football fans asked, “Does this affect the games?” When told that it wouldn’t, football fans went on with their daily lives and continued feverishly preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft.
The singer had kicked off NBC’s NFL telecasts for six years, and even the reasons for the departure were lame. From the Associated Press:
Hill says in her tweet it’s been an honor to appear on the NBC show, but that it’s time to “let someone else rock the open. Difficult decision. Kinda emotional.”
“Sunday Night Football” executive producer Fred Gaudelli tweeted “great love and appreciation” to Hill for her participation over the years. He made no mention of what the show plans to do with the opening.
Well, unless it’s a Lawrence Welk tribute band or the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, this is a non-story. And even if one of those groups got hired, a nation of viewers would schedule a trip to the kitchen come song time.
The staff at EntertainmentTell wishes Faith Hill continued success in being a certified babe, a great singer, and a multimillionaire. Rock on.
