With still more than two months to go until “The Lone Ranger” premiere, I’m already about to lose count of all the released trailers. There was one in the fall of 2012, one in December of last year and one that aired during Super Bowl, right?
If so, today marks the appearing of the fourth (and apparently final) “Lone Ranger” theatrical trailer. I used to be a sucker for any movie starring Johnny Depp until “The Tourist”, but now I’m a little more cautious, especially when his films get slated for summer releases.
Be that as it may, this thing looks awesome. And not in a cartoon-ish kind of way, although you can sense Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer’s involvement in the project from a mile away.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not under the impression this will be an emotional, tear-jerking drama or that the script will get an Oscar nod. But, in the words of Calvin Candie, it looks like it’s going to be “a good bit of fun”.
Granted, I’m still a little torn about the fact Tonto is getting first billing over The Lone Ranger, but hey, that’s how things work in Hollywood, right? Okay, enough talking for now and let the explosions begin:
