Sarah-SilvermanSarah Silverman getting her own HBO comedy special wouldn’t be a big deal, except for one thing: It will be her first for the cable network, one that has a long history of nurturing stand-up comics.

Was Robert Klein unavailable? Did Silverman have a Sinatra-in-Vegas reputation with HBO? Was she the one responsible for Arli$$?

Whatever the heck was behind the delay, “Sarah Silverman: We are Miracles,” tapes in May and will air sometime this fall. The popular comedian also wrote the special, which will be presented by HBO in association with Funny or Die. All of this information comes from the good folks at TheWrap.

Silverman is known for her unconventional (and beloved) sitcom, “The Sarah Silverman Program,” and her 2005 concert film, “Jesus is Magic.” She’s also developed into a solid dramatic actress, witness her work in last year’s  “Take This Waltz.”
