Five years is a long time to stay away from a music industry that appears to be in a continuous metamorphosis, but if there’s one guy who can pull off a comeback from a half a decade hiatus, that’s the multi-talented, smooth and all-around Mr. Nice Guy Justin Timberlake.
JT’s triumphant return to music started off explosively, with the “Suit & Tie” hit single featuring Jay-Z that climbed the US Billboard Hot 100 chart way up to third place. Soon after came Justin’s third studio album, “The 20/20 Experience”, which topped the Billboard 200 and went double platinum already.
But the cherry on top of it all will be the upcoming “Legends of the Summer” stadium tour, co-headlined by Justin and Jay-Z, plus a solo tour that will start in Montreal on October 31 and spread all through next year.
Called the 20/20 Experience World Tour, this includes 17 dates this year and an additional six in 2014. After the Montreal stop, Justin will take up some of North America’s most iconic stages, including the Fedex Forum in Memphis (November 18), MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas (November 29), Atlanta’s Philips Arena (December 17) and Denver’s Pepsi Center (January 22, 2014).
The tour is to be wrapped up on February 10 of next year in Omaha, although I wouldn’t be surprised if Justin would decide to extend it. After all, the guy’s a beast, with part 2 of “The 20/20 Experience” album set to be released in September 30.
