Mike Judge’s new comedy has received a series order from HBO on the strength of its pilot, according to Deadline TV’s Nellie Andreeva. She adds that it’s a single-camera dark comedy “set in the high-tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success.”
That sounds a bit like “Office Space.” And you know what? I have absolutely no problem with that.
The untitled project comes from Judge and two other “King of the Hill” alums, John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky. Also involved are Hollywood producer Scott Rudin and 3 Arts.
Among the pilot’s stars were T.J. Miller and Thomas Middleditch. No word yet if a red stapler will have a supporting role.
