Maybe it has something to do with the fact –that as Screenrant is reporting- Warner Bros. has tapped Glee scribe Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to write a screenplay for a live-action “Archie” movie.
In addition to Aguirre-Sacasa, “Pitch Perfect’s” director Jason Moore will utilize his uniquely insufferable talents to help bring Riverdale’s most wanton malted-holics and sock hop-heads to the silver screen.
Not coincidentally, Aguirre-Sacasa has written a few issues of “Archie” including a crossover with Glee and an upcoming special called “Afterlife with Archie” which, interestingly, mixes Walking Dead style horror with the wholesome sensibilities of America’s most tolerated teenager.
With an “Archie” movie hovering ominously on the horizon, are there any comics that haven’t been adapted into expensive summer tentpoles? Did they make a US 1 movie yet? How about Crankshaft? Jack Chick’s crazed, right-wing religious tract Dark Dungeons? What’s left? Let me know in the comments (Don’t actually let me know in the comments).
