TenaciousIf you’re a comedy fan who happens to live on the West Coast (near the Santa Monica Pier to be exact) keep Saturday, October 19th free.

That’s when Jack Black and Kyle Gass–the friends behind comedy rock supergroup Tenacious D–are putting on the inaugural Festival Supreme, a musical comedy festival featuring the likes of Zach Galifianakis, Adam Sandler, The Mr. Show Experience (featuring David Cross and Bob Odenkirk), and Reggie Watts.

And that’s not even half of it. Black told RollingStone.com that the affair will take place on three or four stages, with stand-up acts like Sarah Silverman performing in tents. Black also explained how the idea came about.

There’s no real objective here other than to put on the greatest show this town has ever seen. I feel like there’s an empty hole there too. Like why hasn’t there ever been a really kick-ass comedy festival in Los Angeles? I can’t think of one. It’s like a no-brainer. This is where they all are. You don’t even have to fly anybody out.

Vulture has a promotional video (featuring Black’s prominent gut) and a really cool poster. Tickets start at $99. Visit Festival Supreme’s Website for more information, including the full line-up.
