Pardon the bad pun, but Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” just became more… stellar. Aside from Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine and Bill Irwin, all of which have been on board for the upcoming sci-fi extravaganza for months, the film will star a number of other familiar faces.
Namely, John Lithgow, Ellen Burstyn, Mackenzie Foy and Timothee Chalamet. Quite a turn out for a “party” that’s only set to premiere in November 2014, but did you really expect anything less from Nolan’s visually spectacular and mind-boggling “Dark Knight Rises” follow-up? I sure didn’t.
Now, which one of those are you most excited to see next to the likes of McConaughey, Hathaway and Chastain? I for one am going with Ellen Burstyn. After all, she is an Oscar winner (for the 1975 “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”), having been nominated five other times, including in 2001 for “Requiem for a Dream”.
Lithgow has quite the resume himself, having been nominated twice for an Oscar and winning two TV Golden Globes, including just three years ago, for his haunting supporting performance in Dexter.
As for Foy and Chalamet, they definitely have much more modest acting credits, but they’re also incredibly young. 12 year-old Foy made her big screen debut in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” two years ago, while Chalamet, who is 17 years of age, is best known for his work on Homeland.
