I’ve heard of all-star casts before and the first two seasons of American Horror Story have both been very rich in that department, but the line-up for the third is getting downright ridiculously crowded.
Let’s do a little recap, shall we? Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, the two American Horror Story creators, have got Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Lily Rabe locked for the main witch roles of Coven, plus an array of incredibly talented supporting performers, led by Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Patti LuPone, Denis O’Hare, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Alexandra Breckenridge and Mare Winnigham.
So far, so… awesome, but even if that list is heftier than the cast of a Quentin Tarantino movie, there was something still missing. Namely, a healthy dose of testosterone, to help Denis O’ Hare and Evan Peters hold their own against the monster pack of evil witches.
Ask and you shall receive seems to be Ryan Murphy’s motto these days, as Danny Huston is the latest addition to the AHS: Coven cast. Nominated for a Golden Globe earlier this year for his supporting role in Magic City, one of the most grossly underrated dramas on cable TV, Huston will reportedly play Jessica Lange’s “sexy (and dangerous) BF this year” on FX.
With an impressive resume that includes over 50 big and small-screen titles already and a career spanning on two decades, the 51-year-old actor is bound to complicate the horror/mystery’s new storyline even further while at the same time lining up quite the inside battle for next year’s TV award shows. En garde, Mr. O’ Hare and young mister Peters!
