THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER! Besides my birth of course. Death Cab for Cutie is back and they’re working on their eighth album. Holy mackerel do I feel old. Anyways, Ben Gibbard has been very busy this past year. First, he released his solo album Former Lives and then he embarked on a reunion tour with the Postal Service. Take a nap already, Ben!
The band has been hitting the studio to record the follow-up to 2011’s Codes and Keys. Death Cab for Cutie confirmed the news on Thursday by uploading Instagram photos with the hashtag “in the studio.” According to Rolling Stone, the band is harnessing their creative energy in a Seattle recording studio.
Along with the new album, Death Cab for Cutie fans can pick up another special album. On October 29th, the band will be releasing a special 10th anniversary edition of their 2003 album Transatlanticism.
Can you tell how excited I am?! They’re only MY FAVORITE BAND! There will be a quiz, readers.
Excuse me while I do my happy dance:
Celebrate the exciting news with me and take a listen to the perfect song for this rainy day, “Grapevine Fires.”
