Director Steve McQueen- not to be confused with the late movie star, but rather the director of last year’s movie “Shame,” is assembling quite a cast for his new film “Twelve Years a Slave.”

Brad Pitt, “Shame” star Michael Fassbender, Chiwetel Ejiofer and Saturday Night Live‘s Taran Killam were already on board, and now Michael K. Williams- best known as Omar from The Wire- is on board the film as well.

According to Deadline, the film is a slavery story, adapted from a pre-Civil War book about a man drugged and dragged to the south to be sold into slavery. The film is shooting in New Orleans but there is no official release date.
