Thanks to Matt Zoller Seitz’s fantastic new book “The Wes Anderson Collection” I may now view all of Anderson’s projects through the prism of the stories and storyboards featured in future editions of the book.
Anderson’s next film, “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” doesn’t come out until sometime in 2014, but the movie now has a poster, and its trailer will reportedly arrive this Thursday. Here’s the poster:
The eclectic cast features Anderson veterans- Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Jason Schwarzman, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Goldbum- as well as newcomers to the director’s company, such as Ralph Fiennes, Saoirse Ronan, and Tom Wilkinson.
According to the premise from Fox Searchlight on imdb.com:
The Grand Budapest Hotel tells of a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars and his friendship with a young employee who becomes his trusted protégé. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and the slow and then sudden upheavals that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th century.
We know 2014 is a year in which none of the blockbusters look especially interesting- ooh, “Transformers 4″!- so it’s nice to actually have one film next year to anticipate.
