A new effort is underway to get the buzz going for prospective movies made by women.

The “Bitch List,” which has the stated goal of getting “more female-friendly content on our screens,” is seeking nominations of screenplays written by women, which pass what’s known as “The Bechdel Test.” The test, coined by cartoonist Alison Bechdel, asks three questions of movies: the presence of at least two women, who talk to each other, about something other than a man.

The effort got underway earlier this year and the organizers of the campaign, known as the “Hollywood Bitch Pack,” plan to release the list of top screenplays in January, in the tradition of the annual Black List.
