Hey, remember that guy Beck? I know, how could you ever forget him? But, it’s not your fault he hasn’t released any new music since 2008’s “Modern Guilt.” Luckily for all of us, the Beck is back and he’s doing things a little differently this time around. The musician has signed with Capitol Records and he will release a new album, “Morning Phase,” with Capitol in February.
Beck’s press representatives said in a new release that the new album is “a companion piece of sorts” to “Sea Change.” If you’re wondering what that means, the representatives elaborated that the album will harken “back to the stunning harmonies, song craft and staggering emotional impact of that record, while surging forward with infectious optimism.
Although this is Beck’s first new album of new material since “Modern Guilt,” it doesn’t mean Beck hasn’t been keeping himself busy. He has been producing for Thurston Moore and Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, AND he released a book called “Song Reader.”
AND Beck is also working on an acoustic record in the style of “One Foot in the Grave.”
To celebrate, I’m taking you back in time! Hang on to your hats, Beck believers!
