When Dan Harmon was eliminated as the showrunner for “Community” some weeks back, fans were apoplectic. We can only imagine the response if anyone in the show’s talented ensemble hit the road.

Thankfully, that’s not happening. Deadline Hollywood reports that everyone will be present at Greendale for season four. Sony Pictures TV has picked up the options on all the actors, including the perpetually unhappy Chevy Chase.

I’m happy to hear this news, because most of the cast has loads of career momentum. Joel McHale has, like, nine jobs. Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs are popping up in movies. Donald Glover has projects, including rapping as Childish Gambino. Heck, Jim Rash just won an Oscar for adapting “The Descendants.” Getting everyone back is a big deal. Even better, it could be viewed as a sign of the cast’s confidence in the show’s creative chops.

One day we may look back at “Community” as a starting point in the same way that “Moonlighting” launched Bruce Willis’s career or “Your Show of Shows” groomed writers like Mel Brooks, Neil Simon, and Larry Gelbart. Savor the flavor, folks.
