Comic Jay Leggett, who portrayed characters including a depressed Irish folk singer onIn Living Color, has died. The 50-year-old Leggett also portrayed a heavy lawyer infatuated with Fox’s Ally McBeal, who didn’t return his affection.
In recent years Leggett moved to the other side of the camera, co-writing and producing the movies “Employee of the Month” and “Without A Paddle.”
Workaholics star Blake Anderson credits Leggett with helping his sketch group Mail Order Comedy find fame.
“RIP Jay Leggett,” Anderson tweeted. “He was the first dude to give us MOC boys a chance, nothing but love and respect.”
Friends and family are taking solace in the fact that Leggett died doing something he truly loved, hunting. According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the actor was on a deer hunting trip when he fell ill. He shared his love of the sport and Wisconsin’s hunting culture in the 2010 documentary “To the Hunt.”
