If Jon Stewart is upset at John Oliver for reportedly stealing his head writer and making him showrunner of his new HBO show, he didn’t show it Thursday night, when the show said goodbye to its longtime reporter.
Oliver’s goodbye began with an ostensible bit about guards in Buckingham Palace stealing nuts from Queen Elizabeth, before Stewart quickly segued into a tribute to Oliver’s seven years of work on the show, including a series of short clip packages, featuring Oliver’s British-themed, out-of-context sexual bits and field work.
And of course, the “Carlos Danger” dance returned one last time.
