Grace Phipps (The Nine Lives of Chloe King) has joined CW’s Vampire Diaries as April, a “natural beauty with a bit of an edge.”
TV Guide reports that April will share history with both Elena and Jeremy. April will appear in this fall’s second episode, returning to Mystic Falls for her father’s funeral. Elena will try to protect April from Mystic Falls’ supernatural secrets. I’m guessing she fails miserably at that.
The biggest development for the new season is Elena’s transformation into a vampire. During the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel we learned writers originally planned to transform her in the show’s second season. Nina Dobrev hated keeping her character’s secret, and said she wanted to tell the world.
Also, Damon is going back to his bad boy ways this season. That announcement drew cheers from the crowd on hand. The dynamic between he and Elena, well technically everyone and Elena, will change as she enters the vampire fold. CW has moved its premieres back to October this year. Vampire Diaries arrives October 11 at 8 p.m. Eastern. It will be the lead-in for CW’s Beauty and the Beast remake. The CW Network is the place to be if your boyfriend has fangs.
