American Horror Story hype has died down some since the finale of “Coven”, so the time is ripe for the writers to “accidentally” spill the beans on what’s to come in season 4.
In a podcast with Nerdist Writers Panel, “AHS” writer and co-executive producer Douglas Petrie discusses the dark humor in the show and then, when confronted by Moira Kirkland, a writer for “Castle” and “Arrow”, and her claim that she heard “Carnival”, Petrie slowly confirms, “Yes, that’s very roughly the idea.” He also notes that the season is yet unnamed.
The season is a period piece set in 1950 and centers around a historical event from the time.
Carnival and Circus rumors flew in January when fan-made posters hit Tumblr and circulated through the Internet. Co-creator Ryan Murphy said in an interview that no one had completely guessed the new season, which led us to believe our Carnival dreams were dead.
Now, we’ll wonder what kind of characters our “American Horror Story” returnees will play. I pray for a psychic Carnival Queen Jessica Lange and a fire-eating, psychopathic Emma Roberts, but we shall see.
The podcast is available here, and the reveal is around 33 minutes in.
