Moviegoers watching the new “Dark Knight Rises” over the weekend got a first look at the upcoming movie featuring the other iconic DC Comics superhero. “Man of Steel,” the upcoming remake of the Superman franchise, actually had two, slightly different teasers that were shown in theaters.
Judging by the teaser the film, which is directed by “300″‘s Zack Snyder and executive-produced by Batman director Christopher Nolan, appears similar in tone to “Batman Begins”: Clark Kent/Superman (Henry Cavill) is shown bearded and brooding, against a dark tone, and isn’t glimpsed in the Superman costume until the end.
“Man of Steel” arrives in theaters in the summer of 2013.
