You thought you knew everything about Stretch Armstrong after opening him up to find latex rubber and corn syrup. Oh no, Stretch is a mysterious complicated man. Relativity Media plans to deliver a movie based on the classic toy. It has tapped Breck Eisner, who directed “The Crazies” and “Sahara,” to helm this one.

I’ll understand if you’re trying to wrap your head around this concept. The frightening thing is it’s actually the second attempt at this movie. Universal Studios was going to do the project with “Twilight” hunk Taylor Lautner starring. Relativity stepped in after Universal came to its collective senses. Even better, now Relativity is touting it as a “gritty actioner”  about the struggles Lucas Armstrong faces after gaining powers.  He is the elastic hero this city deserves, but not the one it needs right now.  So we’ll stretch him, because he can take it.

Relavity and toy manufacturing giant Hasbro will partner on this, targeting a release date of April 11, 2014 release date.
