All in the Game: ‘Wire’ Cast to Fundraise For Obama

Omar coming- to raise money for the president’s reelection campaign.

According to Politico, which cited an official invitation, President Obama’s campaign will host a fundraiser next month along with several cast members of The Wire, including Michael K. Williams (Omar), Clarke Peters, Wendell Pierce and Sonja Sohn. The August 15 event, which will cost $500 per guest, will take place not in Baltimore but rather Martha’s Vineyard.

Obama, who has said in multiple interviews that he is a fan of David Simon’s 2002-2008 HBO series, is not scheduled to attend the fundraiser in person.
