Archer: Vice is one season in and it looks like it’s going to stay that way. Season 5 saw the show devolve from spy agents performing missions to a happy band of misfits attempting to cartel a literal metric ton of cocaine. Pam is addicted to the stuff, Lana is super pregnant, and Mallory is a mess. It’s been a fun reboot but, according to Entertainment Weekly, creator Adam Reed seems to think it’s time to get back to basics.
Season 6 will be an “unreboot, or whatever – a deboot,” according to Reed. We’ll see the agents of ISIS settle back into their roles as agents on the right side of the law (er, sort of) while Lana becomes a new mother, Mallory a grandmother, and the rest of the group babysitters. Archer will be also be a father, and that means some existential crises. Will he get a tattoo of the baby’s name next to the wee baby Seamus’?
Reed revealed that Pam will attempt to feed the new baby like a gorilla and god only knows what new horror Cheryl will have for him or her. Considering the track record of the agents’ time spent unsupervised in the office (lots of booze, drugs and sex) it’s sure to be a questionable-but-hilarious environment for the baby.
The creators are probably intelligent to leave a good thing where it is and not push the envelope.
