A purported magazine cover with the news that White Collar star Matt Bomer had been cast as Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey” is a hoax, International Business Times reported. The cover was linked heavily from Twitter earlier this week.
The cover, a supposed Entertainment Weekly issue featuring an interview in which Bomer “talks about changing the white collar for a grey tie,” is in fact a fan-made Photoshop. The fake cover also includes a story about “the ultimate Oscar pool cheat sheet”; July is a strange time of year for an Oscar pool.
Producers are in place for a Hollywood adaptation of the popular erotic novel, but no director or casting has been announced.
