This year’s crowded Oscar race just lost one big potential contender. Baz Luhrmann’s 3D adaptation of Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby”- previously scheduled for mid-December- has been pushed back to the summer of 2013.

The film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway and Casey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan, already had a trailer debut earlier this summer.
