Actor-director Ben Affleck was rumored as a possible director of upcoming Warner Bros. blockbuster “Justice League,” though after an exclusive interview with Vancouver-based 24 Hours Sunday, said rumor was laid to rest.
“I’m not working on the Justice League. One of the problems with entertainment web sites is that they need to fill pages, and that’s how rumors get started,” Affleck said. “Justice League sounds really exciting but it’s not something I’m working on.”
With Affleck out of the picture, the Huffington Post reported that Andy and Lana Wachowski (“The Matrix” films and “Speed Racer”) are on Warner Bros.’ shortlist to direct the superhero flick, though neither of the sibling team of directors have yet made any comment on the subject public.
Currently the team is preparing to begin production of “Jupiter Ascending,
starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.
Christopher Nolan, another supposed candidate for the job told EW.com in July that he had “no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any Justice League project.”
As the rumor mill continues to turn, further information about the movie which will join forces of Superman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman will also surface.
