SNL's new president, Jay Pharoah

When Saturday Night Live stages its inevitable presidential debate sketches this fall, we now know which actors will be standing at the podium.

According to a New York Times report, featured player and ace impersonator Jay Pharoah will take over the show’s impression of President Obama, replacing the much-maligned take that has been performed by Fred Armisen ever since Obama first arrived on the scene.

Jason Sudeikis, meanwhile, will return to play Republican candidate Mitt Romney. The actor, whose status with the show had been up in the air since the end of last season, will stay at the show at least until January, SNL announced. Sudeikis, who has been taking on a large amount of movie roles lately, also portrays Vice President Biden on the show.

SNL returns on NBC this weekend, with Seth MacFarlane hosting the season premiere.
