HBO is behind Larry David’s new movie, as is a hefty lineup of Hollywood’s who’s who, according to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday.
Titled “Clear History,” the movie will feature Bill Hader, Jon Hamm and Danny McBride, as well as Phillip Baker Hall, Kate Hudson, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan and David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star, JB Smoove.
With a script co-written by David, he will star as Nathan Flomm, a former marketing executive at an electric car company who declines his 10 percent stock after a personal disagreement with his former boss (played by Hamm.) Ten years later, with the company now worth billions, Nathan moves to the coast of Massachusetts with plans of a simpler life and a new identity. Hamm’s character appears on the island to renovate his summer mansion, inspiring Nathan’s decision to finally get sweet revenge from his old boss.
Curb writers Alec Berg, David Mandel and Jeff Schaffer helped write the script and are executive producing along with Bradley Thomas and Greg Mottola (“Superbad,” Arrested Development), who will also be directing the film. Monica Levinson is producing and Laura Streicher will be associate producer.
The crew will begin filming in Massachusetts this fall.
