News surfaced earlier today from TMZ and CNN of the passing of a music legend – Prince Rogers Nelson, better known as Prince or The Artist Formerly Known As Prince, was found dead at his estate in Carver County, Minn.
Police are investigating a death at the estate of superstar Prince in Carver County, Minnesota, according to Carver County Sheriff spokesman Jason Kamerud. Authorities told CNN that the investigation is happening at Prince’s Paisley Park studios. “We are not releasing any information regarding the identity of the person who died until next of kin is notified,” Kamerud said.
The seven time Grammy Award winner has reportedly been battling some sort of illness and has previously canceled at least one recent concert in Atlanta. No speculation that this recent illness has anything to do with the current death investigation that is going on. Prince did, however, show up the next day to let fans know he was ok.
Prince has been an iconic figure in the music industry since his break-out album 1999, back in 1982. He was later inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
He will be missed by the many fans around the world.
