Matt Damon collaborates again with director Gus Van Sant (“Good Will Hunting”) in the new film “Promised Land.” The plot, which involves the controversial gas-drilling method known as “fracking,” has Damon’s character, a representative for a multi-billion dollar gas conglomerate, embarking on a small farming town. ‘Promised Land’ also stars Frances McDormand, who plays Damon’s business partner and John Krasinski as a local farmer.
Rosemarie DeWitt and Hal Holbrook also co-star in the film based on a Dave Eggers story with a script co-written by Damon and Krasinski. The Focus Features production will hit theaters on December 28.
