While there wasn’t enough demand for WWE programming to sustain an entire network, WWE and Hulu Plus have developed a way to get more content to fans. Starting immediately, Hulu Plus offers unlimited instant streaming access and is the exclusive home of next day WWE content. Hulu Plus will also air WWE En Espanol, a Spanish-language recap show of the week’s best wrestling moments.
Hulu provides video access through mobile phones, tablets, PCs, internet-connected TVs, set-top boxes and gaming consoles. Hulu Plus is $7.99 per month and offers HD as well as more viewing selections. The service hit 2 million subscriptions earlier in 2012 and estimates it adds two new users every minute.
WWE is the world’s most popular pro wrestling promotion, though these days it emphasizes the entertainment aspects over the wrestling. WWE’s other ventures include a movie studio arm that makes films usually starring wrestlers. The next production from them is “12 Rounds: Reloaded,” featuring WWE main eventer Randy Orton.
