NBC to Roll Out Marching Band Sitcom Set in New Orleans

NBC’s new musical comedy The Swamp is in its early stages of development, according to Deadline.com .

Set in New Orleans, a place with no shortage of American musical history, the show will be orchestrated by writer-director Tom Brady (MTV’s animated ‘Good Vibes’) with Warner Bros.-based Werner Entertainment’s Tom Werner and Mike Clements as executive producers.

Following  a college marching band, the show is named after the off-campus house in which the group of friends live together. The Swamp is described by Deadline as “a contemporary character comedy with social commentary and musical performances,” and will follow in the vein of Fox’s ‘Glee.’
