Two members of the seminal Minneapolis band The Replacements reunited this week to record a limited-edition EP consisting of covers.
According to Rolling Stone, singer Paul Westerberg and guitarist Tommy Stinson reunited for the first time in five years this week to record cover songs for a limited-run vinyl EP, which will be auctioned to raise money for medical costs for former Replacement Slim Dunlap, who suffered a stroke recently.
Drummer Chris Mars did not participate, while Stinson’s brother, guitarist Bob Stinson, died in 1995.
Westerberg told the magazine that “it’s possible” the group could reunite for an album or tour.
