NBC recently announced that Community will not premiere on Oct. 19 as planned, reports TVLine.
“Given the success we’ve had for the past four weeks – including winning the first week of the season in [the] A18-49 [demographic] – we’ve decided to continue to concentrate our promotional strength on our new NBC shows…,” NBC said in a statement issued Monday.
According to NBC’s thinking, the new fall shows are doing so well that the network would rather keep Community on stand-by to use when one of their new shows stops working. This seems backwards – Community fans are being punished for already liking a great show, and they won’t get it back until a different NBC shows fails?
It makes sense strategically, but doesn’t seem fair. We guess Community fans will have to make do with Grimm re-runs for now.
