Grammy-winning singer, Michael Bolton is set to star, as himself, in his own half-hour comedy series for ABC, Deadline reported yesterday.
Based on an idea by actress Allison Miller (ABC’s Go On and Terra Nova), “Michael Bolton’s Daughter is Destroying My Life” will chronicle the actress’s arrival to Hollywood and her new job as the soft rock balladeer’s head of social media. The show will be loosely inspired by Miller’s real-life encounters with celebrities in her early days in Hollywood.
Miller will produce the Tagline and Universal Cable Productions project, while Tami Sagher (30 Rock) will write and executive produce, alongside Tagline’s Willie Mercer, Ron West, JB Roberts, Kelly Kulchak and Bolton himself.
Following Bolton’s recent guest spot on Two and a Half Men and the SNL/Lonely Island music video Jack Sparrow, the singer seems to have garnered hype again. But how fresh can the blue eyed soul man remain in pop culture?
