Beyonce to Perform at Super Bowl Halftime Show

Super Bowl halftime show performers have trended in recent years towards the divisive- the Black Eyed Peas, for instance- and more often, the older (The Rolling Stones, The Who, Paul McCartney, Madonna) But this year, the show will feature someone younger, of the moment, and possessing mass appeal.

Pop superstar Beyonce will perform at the show, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. An official announcement is expected Wednesday.

Super Bowl XLVII is scheduled for Feb. 3, at the Superdome in New Orleans. It will be the tenth Super Bowl in New Orleans, and the first since Hurricane Katrina.
