This past weekend’s Saturday Night Live, featuring Bruno Mars as both host and musical guest, was one of the better outings of what’s been a pretty promising season of the show so far. But perhaps the most exciting moment of the night was the promo for the next live episode: comedian Louis C.K. will host SNL for the first time Nov. 3.
The band fun. is the evening’s musical guest.
SNL has customarily announced its next several hosts weeks in advance, but there was no indication that C.K. would appear prior to the promotion on the show Saturday.
The comedian, in the middle of a banner year in both his stand-up and TV careers, has never before hosted SNL, but he’s no stranger to 30 Rockefeller Plaza; he was a writer for Late Night with Conan O’Brien when that show launched in 1993.
The Nov. 3 show is the final SNL prior to the presidential election.
