The second season of Lena Dunham’s buzzed-about HBO series Girls doesn’t even start until airing until January, but the series has been renewed for a third season which is about to begin production.
According to Deadline, HBO is seeking to finish up a deal with executive producer Jenni Konner, with production on the season to follow early next year. The network has not officially announced the renewal.
Director and comedy king Judd Apatow, who is a producer on Girls, spilled the beans at the tail end of a 30-minute online interview with journalist David Poland about his upcoming film, “This is 40.” Dunham has a small part in the film, which comes out in December.
