Sam Raimi’s “The Wizard of Oz” prequel defintely takes after Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” which he produced. Its dark plot undertones juxtapose the vibrant, happy colors of the film nicely. In this origin story, Oscar Diggins (James Franco) is a poor Kansas magician who gets swept away to Oz by a tornado. The people of Oz mistake Oscar for the great wizard they had been expecting. In the trailer he meets the three witches, Evanora (Rachel Weisz), Theodora (Mila Kunis), and Glinda (Michelle Williams).
Hopefully, the film can live up to the hype of this long-anticipated trailer. Watch it below.
