Whether it’s the unimaginative writing, the constant barrage of lazy sex jokes or its years-long embrace and enablement of serial woman-abuser Charlie Sheen, Two and a Half Men has never been the most respected of hit network TV shows. Critics loath it, it gets very few cultural accolades, and now even a cast member for the show’s entire run says he thinks the series is “filth.”
Angus T. Jones, who has starred as Jake Harper on the hit CBS sitcom since he was 10 years old when the show started in 2003, lashed out at the show in a recent interview with a Christian website called Forerunner Chronicles. In the interview, titled “Angus T. Jones’ Testimonial,” the actor reveals that he has become a Seventh-Day Adventist. Then, he insults his own show and implores viewers to not watch it:
If you watch ‘Two and a Half Men,’ please stop watching ‘Two and a Half Men.’ I’m on ‘Two and a Half Men,’ and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it, and filling your head with filth. People say it’s just entertainment. Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch.
It’s bad news…a lot of people don’t like to think about how deceptive the enemy is. He’s been doing this a long longer than any of us have been around. There’s no playing around when it comes to eternity.

Between Jones and Sheen’s months-long rant against the show and creator Chuck Lorre a couple of years ago, Two and a Half Men has now been publicly trashed by one and a half of the men.
