Here’s your box office report for this past weekend, complete with snarky commentary.
.) “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2,”$17.4M. The neat part about this series wrapping up is seeing which star will resemble the super-popular guy or gal who peaked in high school. Seriously, I’d pay $11.00 to see the cast’s 10-year-reunion to see which actor or actress talks about “getting out of the flow of the day-to-day, man.”
.) “Skyfall,” $17M. Getting within range of $300 million. I don’t think anyone expected that, especially for a franchise that was under fire.
.) “Rise of the Guardians,” $13.5M. The latest of, like, 9,000 animated features that came out of this.
.) “Lincoln,” $13.5M. Saw this over the weekend: tremendous, save for the typical Spielberg teary-eyed ending. Now, I think we’re all ready for the big screen adaptation of Bob Odenkirk’s one-man stage show. Go to 4:48 in the video to see what I mean.
.) “Life of Pi,” $12M. “Delicious,” says every hack critic who never took geometry.
