Denzel, ‘Drive’ Director Teaming on “The Equalizer”

Now here’s an intriguing-sounding project. Denzel Washington is set to star in a movie adaptation of the 1980s TV series The Equalizer, and Nicolas Winding Refn of “Drive” is set to direct.

The series, which aired from 1985 to 1989, starred Edward Woodward as a retired intelligence operative who helped out those in trouble.

Production starts in the spring for a 2014 release date, Collider said.
