I guess this one was inevitable: a movie based on the popular Angry Birds video game franchise is scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2016.
Parent company Rovio Entertainment announced the planned movie on the third anniversary of the game’s release. John Cohen of “Despicable Me” is set to produce the film, which will be animated and in 3D.
Rovio will produce and finance the film itself, outside the studio system; it’s unknown which studio will release it.
