Hill Street Blues. L.A. Law. E.R. They’ve all occupied the Thursdays-at-10 spot that was the most vaunted in television drama, at least until HBO Sundays-at-9 came along.

In recent years, the spot hasn’t been so prestigious, airing failures from Prime Suspect to The Firm to The Jay Leno Show. The latest contender is Do No Harm, a medical drama about a doctor with multiple personality disorder. Sort of like “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” meets House.

The show premieres Jan. 31, and its stars include Steven Pasquale, Alana De La Garza and Phylicia Rashad. Here’s the spot:

Incidentally, Do No Harm films at a building literally next door to our offices in Philadelphia, and I’ve walked by the production trucks on the way to work every day for the past six months.

  1. I was kind of skeptical about this show when one of the guys I work with at DISH told me about it the other day, but now that I’ve seen the trailer for it I’m pretty excited to watch it. I hope it lives up to my expectations though, because it would be really sad to another show I’m interested in bite the dust. I guess only time will tell, so I’ll keep an eye out for it on my DVR at the end of the month. I don’t have to set an individual recording timer for it either, since it’ll automatically record on my DISH Hopper. I have PrimeTime Anytime enabled, so every night all of the major network’s primetime shows record for me automatically so I never miss a moment! I can’t wait!
