Earlier this week, GadgeTell’s own Robert Nelson wrote about the DODOcase for the Nexus 7. This case takes advantage of a recently discovered feature of the Nexus 7 that allows it to be turned on and off whenever it comes within close proximity of a magnet. This case is being sold for $34.95, but if you’re looking for something cheaper, I recommend the Blurex Magyc Folio Case. You can get it on Amazon for $12.99.
I actually have an interesting story about this case. It serves as a really good example of customer service.
I ordered this case back when it was simply known as the Blurex Folio Case. I ordered it on July 13, five days after I ordered the Nexus 7. I only paid $6 including shipping, but I wasn’t worried about its quality because the portfolio of Blurex cases had very good reviews on Amazon. Approximately a couple days before the case arrived, I received a Tweet from a Blurex employee named Alex informing me that a new version of the case was available with the smart cover function. He also offered to send me the updated case at no charge.
I’m glad Alex contacted me because the original case I received was not very good. The Nexus 7 didn’t fit properly, the case wouldn’t close securely and the case’s stand feature wasn’t just okay. The revised Blurex case is fantastic. Its build quality is also very good considering it’s a $13 product.
